Statistical Problem Solving Workshop
Most organizations have significant opportunities to eliminate
the special cause variations that create costly waste, effect customer
satisfaction, and disturb smooth process flow. Yet time is often
wasted and problems go unsolved because there are too many potential
corrective actions or too much data, priorities are unclear or
unrealistic, or improvement projects become derailed.
The Statistical Problem Solving workshop links the use
of simple statistical tools and data to the proven Kepner-Tregoe
Problem Analysis and Project Management processes in a systematic
approach to corrective action projects. Application
of this systematic, data-driven approach to special-cause variation
can transform problems into results-focused improvement projects.
The two-day workshop provides methods for performing fact-and-data-based
problem diagnoses, selecting the right remedial actions, and pursuing
an effective corrective action project. To manage the corrective
action cycle, the workshop introduces Kepner-Tregoe Project Management
concepts that minimize the risks, costs, and length of time needed
to complete a corrective action project. The approach can be used
to build on DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control) and
PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act/Standardize) improvement methodologies
to enhance troubleshooting capabilities and accelerate the corrective
action process. Kepner-Tregoe professionals are available to ensure
successful application of these skills and concepts following the
workshop.
