Program for KT Process Facilitator and Coach Certification
Process Facilitators and Coaches integrate the use of KT processes by providing leadership, coaching, and facilitation. They lead and help others solve problems, make decisions, and implement plans using the KT Problem Solving & Decision Making, Analytic Trouble Shooting, or Resolve processes. They have a deep understanding of the concepts and the practical ability of the Kepner-Tregoe ideas and software tools that can assist them in this effort. As a certified facilitator and coach they assist their colleagues as they solve difficult problems, make tough decisions, set priority, and plan ahead
Who Should Become a Process Facilitator & Coach
Those who have the responsibility of resolving organizational issues will benefit from this program. Department managers, project managers and troubleshooters are all good candidates. Process Facilitators and Coaches should have strong leadership qualities and good communications skills. They should have the responsibility or the ability to influence management decisions.
How to Become a Process Facilitator & Coach?
Candidates must have previously attended a Kepner-Tregoe Problem Solving and Decision Making, Analytical Trouble Shooting, or Resolve workshop. They then attend two additional workshops – the KT Rational Process Mastery Workshop and the KT Process Facilitator & Coach Workshop.
Candidates will then undergo a certification that involves an appropriate combination of documented facilitations and coaching instances and/or an onsite certification. The specifics of the certification will be designed by Kepner-Tregoe in conjunction with the candidate and will depend on the types of issues the candidate will typically resolve.
KT Process Facilitator & Coach Workshop
Workshop description: During this workshop, participants advance their abilities in leading groups and individuals in resolving their business issues through Kepner-Tregoe’s processes of Problem Analysis, Decision Analysis, Situation Appraisal, and Potential Problem Analysis and Potential Opportunity Analysis. Through role modeling, candidates learn to lead others in typical facilitations and build cross-functional troubleshooting teams who have the content expertise needed to expedite solutions. Candidates learn to lead brainstorming, assign responsibilities, and encourage others to rely on the process and “think beyond the fix” for additional improvement opportunities. This four-day workshop is the final training requirement for the KT Process Facilitation & Coaching certification.
This workshop prepares candidates to:
- To develop skills to plan, lead, and follow-up on the effective facilitation and coaching of KT’s Situation Appraisal, Problem Analysis, Decision Analysis and Potential Problem Analysis and Potential Opportunity Analysis processes on business issues.
- To develop skills to use the Human Performance System to maximize the effectiveness of individual coaching and group facilitation
- To develop skills in effectively and appropriately involving people when resolving issues
- To learn to provide overviews of the KT’s processes
- To develop a plan for ongoing facilitation and coaching activities within their organization

Prerequisite
Participants must have completed the KT Rational Process Mastery workshop or have completed a Leadership Development Institute in the PSDM, KT Resolve or ATS processes. This workshop is the final training requirement of the program for KT Process Facilitators & Coaches Certification.
